YAESU FT-2D AND FT-2DR MARS CAP MODIFICATION

Remove battery pack and locate rubber gasket on back of the radio and remove.

Then locate chip resistor marked 000, only chip resistor in the hole and carefully remove.
Replace the rubber gasket and reinstall the battery pack.

Reset the microprocessor by turning on the radio while holding down the Back, Display, Band buttons at the same time.

Reset your callsign and then the modification is completed.

New Tx is: 140.000-173.995 and 420.000-470.000.

    Same here, I am from China and bought an FT-2D in Osaka which only has 144-146mHz. I wasn't aware of the difference from the much wider amateur radio band in China. If there is a mod that I can use to open up the band it would be great. Thanks in advance.
