Yaesu FT 2DR Programming


SIMPLEX CHANNEL
1. Power on the radio
2. Press the “V/M” button
3. Press the screen where the frequency is and then enter the desired frequency
4. On the bottom left of the screen Press and hold the “F[MW]” button
a. You will see a number flashing in the upper left corner along with what looks like a piece of paper. If it is blank that channel is empty, but if there are lines then there is a frequency already programmed in to that channel number.
5. Rotate the knob to find the desired channel number.
6. Press “M. Write”
7. Again Press “V/M” to return to memory

REPEATER
1. Power on the radio
2. Press the “V/M” button
3. Press the screen where the frequency is and then enter the desired frequency [147.090]
a. The offset will be automatically done.
4. Press and hold “DISP”
5. Press “SIGNALING”
6. Press menu item 11 “SQL TYPE”
7. Turn the knob to “TONE” and press the “BACK” button
8. Press menu item 12 “TONE SQL FREQ”
9. Turn the knob to the desired frequency, for this repeater it is 79.7
10. Hit the “BACK” button to return to the VFO
11. On the bottom left of the screen Press and hold the “F[MW]” button

12. Rotate the knob to find the desired channel number.
13. Press “M. Write”
14. Again Press “V/M” to return to memory

ALPHA / NUMERIC TAG
1. In memory mode go to the channel you wish to make an alpha/numeric tag for
2. Press and hold “DISP”
3. Press “MEMORY”
4. Press 3 “MEMORY NAME” and enter the name
5. When you have entered in the name press the PTT button to set the name into memory.
6. To check that the name is correct press and hold the “A/B” button this will show you the name and when you entered the frequency into memory. If you want a large name just press the name.
